POP study for the state of Saxony-Anhalt published

The State Office for Environmental Protection Saxony-Anhalt has commissioned INTECUS to prepare a study on the “Relevance of new persistent organic pollutants in waste and their impact on waste classification and disposal routes in Saxony-Anhalt”. As part of the study, waste streams in the state of Saxony-Anhalt were analyzed with regard to the content of short-chain chlorinated kerosenes (SCCPs), polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs), perfluorooctanesulfonic acid and its derivatives (PFOS), and hexachlorobutadiene (HCBD). The results were evaluated and the disposal routes used were assessed in terms of their suitability.
