INTECUS, together with N³ Nachhaltigkeitsberatung Dr. Friege und Partner and KDU Krist Deller & Partner Rechtsanwälte, was commissioned by the Federal Environment Agency with a research project to evaluate the influence of §§ 17, 18 KrWG on the high quality of recycling and the strengthening of competition.
This report contains the results of this research project. Particular attention was paid to the material streams of waste paper, scrap metal and used textiles, which are particularly relevant in the practice of commercial collections. On the basis of the data collected, the case law and the findings from the discussions with the circles involved, recommendations for action were drawn up for the further enforcement of Sections 17, 18 KrWG to ensure the high quality of recycling and to strengthen competition. Partners in the project were the N³ sustainability consultancy Dr. Friege und Partner and KDU Krist Deller & Partner Rechtsanwälte.
