Mapping of the anthropogenic stock in Germany

Together with the Leibniz Institute for Ecological Spatial Development e.V. and the Wuppertal Institute for Climate, Environment and Energy GmbH, INTECUS has investigated the anthropogenic stockpile in Germany with regard to its material flows on behalf of the Federal Environment Agency. The study has now been published by the Federal Environment Agency. The project should help to significantly expand the knowledge base on the anthopogenic stockpile. The foundations for the development of an updatable database model of the anthropogenic raw material stockpile have been laid. To this end, estimates were made of the size and composition of the current anthropogenic stock of raw materials from buildings, infrastructures and selected durable goods in Germany, as well as analyses of data sources and parameters that can be used to describe the dynamics of change in the anthropogenic stock.
